Relationships are complex and humans are fallible. We are hugely a work in progress, in terms of emotional maturity and understanding each other. As a result, hurts invariably happen. Some of the hurts are intentional, many occur for no one’s fault.
Such hurts, if not healed in time can keep the mind in their prison.
No doubt the hurts are real. No doubt it is rational to desire retribution. No doubt also that in many instance, forgiveness, with the freedom it gives and relationships it heals, is a better option than harboring hurts or inflicting retribution.
Forgiveness is a choice you make to free yourself from the prison of the hurts. Forgiveness is for you, not the forgiven. If you wish to take back control of your mind and your life, consider embracing forgiveness.
